MEET LAUREN

Lauren Petersen is a nationally certified interior designer (NCIDQ) and the head of LP Design. She earned her B.S in Interior Design from Auburn University, and has been privileged to work in the design industry for more than 15 years.

Her experience ranges from corporate and healthcare design, new construction and renovations, furniture layouts or simple room refreshes, to creative direction and prop styling for brand and editorial campaigns. After a decade long career with the U.S. Army as an interior designer and international project manager, she founded her own design studio in 2018 to support residential and unique commercial projects in her hometown of Huntsville.

Mixing old with new, her design philosophy is that interiors should feel well-travelled and be filled with story. She creates dynamic spaces, layered with color and pattern, and is always in search of a special secondhand item or artisan-made piece. Her dream projects would be to design an eclectic boutique hotel, or style an editorial campaign for Anthropologie.

In 2014, Lauren founded Travel Patterns, a lifestyle brand inspired by the colors and patterns found around the globe. Through the brand we hope to infuse your personal life with eclectic and layered patterns that spark conversations.

Lauren currently resides in Huntsville, Alabama with her husband Aaron, their toddler son, and their moody cat Singha.
